If you’re not in the market for an iPad but want a high-powered tablet PC like the iPad itself at an affordable price, look no further than the Acer Iconia A510. The Acer Iconia A510 is the fourth product offering in the line of Iconia, Acer’s brand of tablet. It might look like a clone of the iPad but another look at this tablet will say otherwise.

Acer Iconia A510 has many features. For its design, the Acer Iconia sports a high-quality bezel glass with the Acer brand plastered onto the glass with a quality front screen and a slick layout that gives it a nice design that makes it look elegant. It features high quality audio, in which it uses Dolby Digital Plus audio that gives you the best audio a tablet can give. It also features superb battery life so you don’t have to charge often. It also features the best graphics card that display topnotch visuals that give out the simple and elegant-looking layouts on the screen which uses the NVIDIA Tegra 3 graphics card. It also features a simple but intuitive navigational menu.

The Acer Iconia A510 is very easy to use. After a few hours of trying the Acer, you’ll find it’s very easy to navigate through the various menus of the game. The programs installed in the tablet work really well so you won’t have much of a problem. I rate this product 4 out of 5 because it suffers from screen glare (most tablets have this common issue) and the colors saturate a tad too much. But other than that, Acer Iconia A510 is a great tablet, installed with the latest specs to compete with the iPad.

Kindle Fire, Amazon Fire

Amazon has created a real game changer with their Kindle Fire. The 7” device is in a class by itself, it’s in between a phone, in-between a tablet and serves multiple purposes in a convenient design. The Kindle Fire has a stunning color touch screen that makes magazines pop, movies and book more vibrant and the colors are vibrant. The Kindle Fire also offers a feature called in-plane switching which has been seen before in iPad, but still makes for a nice addition. Because the Kindle Fire is tied into Amazon, you have a lot of nice media features and options available. One fairly important feature is that you have free cloud access with Amazon’s new cloud services. There’s also a massive amount of media, magazines and movies. Amazon carries hundreds of titles in books, movies and magazines.

Amazon Kindle Fire with One Month Free Amazon Prime

Amazon is also using the Kindle Fire as a great launching pad for Amazon Prime, the streaming service that is going to give Hulu and Netflix a run for the money. Amazon Prime has well over 10,000 titles of commercial-free streaming content. That includes television and movies.

Amazon really took their time with the Kindle Fire, but you can tell that there was a lot of care put into the design. The Kindle Fire is easy to use and has a very intuitive interface. If you want to listen to music, read a book or watch a movie, its all there. The Kindle Fire is so easy to use that even people that are afraid of technology would get the hang of it and end up loving it. If you know how to use a television remote control, then the Kindle Fire will pose zero problems. This is actually on my Christmas list for my grandmother and my mother and father. Mom and dad will have to share, but the $199 price is spectacular.

Kindle Fire Does it Differently

Technically speaking, the Kindle Fire is fast. It uses dual core processing which makes for smooth viewing and listening. One thing that the Kindle Fire does differently is that they are offering a free paid app every day. I’m not sure if this is just a promotional thing, but getting a free paid app each day is actually kind of a nice touch.

The Kindle Fire uses an Amazon browser which has been named Silk. Amazon developed a browser specifically for their cloud services. Silk is accelerated, uses split browser architecture and puts the services of Amazon web services cloud right at your finger tips. Another nice addition is that the Kindle Fire supports Adobe Flash.

Kindle Fire and the Amazon Cloud

Since the Kindle Fire uses the Amazon Cloud, you don’t have to worry about storage space because it’s virtually unlimited. You can store your own movies, music and book, plus your apps on your own cloud and access them whenever you want with the Kindle Fire. On top of all of that, you also have access to over 2 million free titles which include classics like Pride and Prejudice.

Amazon’s Kindle Fire is designed for travel. Its compact size allows for it to fit in a purse, a backpack or even just carry it around in your hand. The display is also perfect for viewing and it has been strengthened to be 30 times stronger than plastic which makes it extremely resistant to scrapes and damage.

Absolutely love this little piece of tech. 10/10 all the way!

If you have recently purchased a tablet pc, you understand how important applications are to optimize its usage. Tablets thrive on applications, and there are thousands currently available with more and more being created each day. Applications are not reserved for iPads either; Android applications are increasingly popular and diverse as well.

There are applications for every possible function you could need, from word processing and spreadsheets to games, movies, and diet help. The best thing about tablets is that they can be customized to your particular needs, and can be changed with a moment’s notice.

Their battery length is often longer than that of a laptop, and smaller size allows for easier portability. Many Android tablets can support Adobe programs as well, making it even easier to take your work along with you, wherever you are. Tablet pc’s can go from functional work devices to gaming consoles to miniature movie theaters with the tap of an application.

Make your lunch hour more entertaining by catching up on a television show you missed, or make a little extra money by playing online poker. It’s also great for families with small children on car trips or to keep them entertained when they have to wait longer than expected.

The discounts that most refurbished cheap tablet pcs will get you are not spectacular. The only time it appears that it is a good deal is when it is on an iPad 64, but for other tablet pcs the amazing deals you would think would be there for buying refurbished just don’t seem to be there.

Overstock Tablets

Overstock Tablet PCs seem to be where manufacturers are offering the deepest discounts. There tends to be a stigma when it comes to buying an overstocked product, because generally that means that the product isn’t popular enough that people are buying it. This is especially true with tablet pcs that are coming to the market now. Most brands that aren’t Android or iPad are finding miserable buys, so you can really save there because the tablets are fine, work great, but just don’t have an established loyal market yet.

Refurbished Tablet

If you are going to insist on getting a refurbished tablet, then make certain that you are getting a warranty that is longer than 90 days. If you cannot find one that carries an extended warranty, then you would be better off buying new or buying from overstock.

Microsoft Tablet PC

We may be seeing a new tablet from Microsoft coming soon. Industry insiders are speculating that not only will Windows 8 be ready and released by 2012, but there is also talk that Microsoft may be coming out with a branded Tablet PC within the next two years. Some anonymous sources may have let it slip and Bloomberg was there to report it.

As it is right now, Windows 8 may be demonstrated at All Things Digital next week and will be loaded on a tablet pc by Nokia. There are a few more industry shows coming up next month and by the end of the year we should probably all be properly prepared to make a choice between an Apple and a PC when it comes to our tablets.

Sprint customers only have a few days left to eagerly anticipate the arrival of the Xoom. May 8th, will launch the availability of the Motorola Xoom WiFi Google Android tablet pc for Sprint users. Being offered at around six hundred dollars, the tablet pc is being recognized as one of the first products that may eventually reduce Apple’s considerable chunk of the tablet pc market.

The Sprint branded Motorla Xoom WiFi will run Android 3.0, Honeycomb operating system, holds a one gigahertz dual core Tegra 2 processor. The tablet pc is said to come with a 32 gig SSD standard and 1 gig DDR2 Ram. This is the first tablet pc built on Android 3.0.

Kunimasa Suziki, CEO of Sony’s computer products sees Sony as a top contender for the expected 70 billion dollar Tablet Pc market in 2015. Numbers are expected to be around 49 billion by the end of 2012. Not a lot of people have faith in Sony being able to win the market share that they are expecting, however, their shorter term goal is to sell the most tablet pcs with the Android OS. This does tip the scales in favor of a good outlook for Sony.

Tablet PC Market

Sony still has the capital to attempt to catch up to Apple, but surpassing them is highly unlikely. It may eventually just come down to where the consumer lines are drawn now, do you own an Xbox or PS3? Some might even own both, but in the tablet pc market it may end up being a battle of brand or OS loyalty.

Sony Android OS Tablet PC

The Sony Android OS tablets should hit the market next year.

Tablet Pc or Laptop

Many are still wondering to go with tablet pc or laptop and others are waiting on a price drop for Apple’s iPads and iPad2. Not a lot of people are replacing their home computers with tablets but are purchasing them as an option to the laptop.
